Irish Cream with Scotch

My husband and I like to enjoy an occasional glass of Irish Cream on the rocks. Instead of paying the high price of purchasing a bottle, I knew there had to be a way to make it at home. After flipping through old cookbooks I found a recipe that called for ingredients I had in my pantry. The recipe I used called for Scotch, however I am sure you could swap that for some Jameson. Whip up a batch and enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day!

  1. Looks delicious! A wonderful way to celebrate St Pats. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I was given the cranberry syrup by a friend a while back. I have not seen it anywhere around here (I too live in Nebraska) but you can make your own.

    Cranberry syrup

    1 tablespoon water
    1/4 cup sugar
6 ounces (1/4 bag) frozen or fresh cranberries
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

    To prepare the syrup
Combine the water, sugar and cranberries and heat in a small pan over medium-low heat.
Simmer for about 2-3 minutes or until cranberries pop. Drain cranberries through a sieve.
Cool completely and add lime juice.

Please stop by anytime. Glad to find some other Omaha bloggers! 🙂
    Gillie
